ADT Update: July 2020

In this July update we'll take a look at some of recent news and updates from ADT. You can find out more about TURBOdesign Suite 2020, our all-new turbomachinery design software, catch up on our introductory webinar and discover the new features and functionalities in our blog.

The Features of TURBOdesign Suite 2020

Our blog is the hub to find out all the latest news on TURBOdesign Suite 2020. Recently our MD, Professor Mehrdad Zangeneh has described the evolution of the new interface and why we've chosen to build a new system from the ground up to give designers the most power and freedom to create breakthrough designs.

You can also see how TDS 2020 allows designers to quickly evaluate designs, thanks to real-time feedback provided by the GUI.

Catch up on our Introductory Webinar

Last month we hosted a webinar to show off the new features and functionalities of TUROdesign Suite 2020. The webinar explained what inspired the development of the new system and how it offers paradigm-shifting design opportunities to turbomachinery engineers.

Catch up on the webinar to see the powerful new features inside TDS 2020 as well as live demonstrations of the design of a centrifugal pump and axial fan, which show off the capabilities of the software.

Investigate a Centrifugal Compressor Stage in our Paper of the Month

Away from the new software, we've released this two-part paper that explores a centrifugal compressor stage as our July paper of the month. In it you can see how an inverse design method compares to a conventionally designed stage and how the design performed under experimental conditions.

The first part of the paper looks at the inverse design method and how the new stage design compares to a conventionally designed component, while the second presents an experimental investigation of the stage and how it performs under real world conditions.

ADT Engineers Performed the Design of a Double-Suction Fan Stage

Finally, our engineers carried out the complete stage analysis of a double-suction fan stage for a leading manufacturer. In this review of the consultancy we discuss how they carried out the analysis and used the feedback to redesign the fan impeller and improve aerodynamic efficiency.
