Mehrdad Zangeneh (Managing Director) and Peng Wang (Turbomachinery Design Engineer) of Advanced Design Technology (ADT) attended the 14th Asian International Conference on Fluid Machinery (AICFM) Workshop on 10th-13th November 2017 in Zhenjiang, China to present inverse design technology to the Asia market and industry leaders.
The focus of the 14th AICFM is to promote a platform for sharing knowledge among researchers in the field of fluid machinery, to encourage partnership between academic and industry delegates, to discuss the role of fluid machinery development, depletion of conventional energy sources, environmental challenges and to establish and strengthen the Asian and regional network.
The event is the 14th edition of the conference held in the name of Asian International Conference on Fluid Machinery. The 14th AICFM is co-organized by AFMC, Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics (CSET) and Jiangsu University. At the conference, keynote lectures were delivered by worldwide fluid machinery specialists to introduce the outstanding achievements in various fluid machinery areas.
While attending 14th AICFM in Zhenjiang, Mehrdad Zangeneh delivered a keynote session introducing TURBOdesign technology, demonstrating the advantages of 3D inverse design based optimization, including accurate multipoint surrogate-based optimization. The keynote also demonstrated how TURBOdesign is used for the 2D inverse design of Volutes and for the optimization of complex stationery components using an adjoint method. The presentations were very well received by the audience, illustrating clearly the key benefits that inverse design delivers for performance and efficient optimization of turbomachinery components.
Host and chairperson Shouqi YUAN, Jiangsu University, China ensured hospitality was offered by AICFM committee to all delegates who attended the conference. Organisers had planned several social and cultural events for delegates to enjoy and learn more about China, and their cultural diversity. These events offered the opportunity to socialize and to network, meeting new acquaintances and developing established relationships further towards future collaboration.
